Living History Camp
Interpreted
exhibits showing temporary living quarters, equipment and life
style of the military and civilian people who occupied Fort Phil
Kearny and traveled the Bozeman Trail.
Infantry, Cavalry,
Artillery, Officer, Enlisted Men, Laundress, Blacksmith, Sutler,
Whiskey Trader, Doctor, to list a few.
Indian Camp
Step into
another culture as Michael “Bad Hand” Terry demonstrates
and
interprets
the life style of the mid 19th century
Native Americans living on
the
northern plains. Shelter, clothing, food and many other
aspects of life
Are
realistically portrayed on this tour.
Programs

of Fort Phil Kearny*
*The Transition of Cavalry Equipment from
1866-1876*
*Guns of the Bozeman Trail*
Other Activities
Learn the location of the many buildings
and the unique stories of their
occupants during the Guided Walking Tour
of the Fort.
Get a peak of military life as
artillery, cavalry and infantry drill on
the parade grounds.
Observe some of the food and methods of
preparing it as occupants of the camp
cook and eat their meals.
Visit the Fort Phil Kearny/Bozeman Trail
Museum and Book Store located next to
the fort
Friday night
symposium
